ROADWORKS January 2025
BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will be undertaking essential carriageway resurfacing works on the A828 Trunk Road at North of Appin (between Portnacroish and Duror), please find attached location plan for geographical clarity.
Works are provisionally programmed for construction starting on Tuesday 14th January to the morning of Friday 31st January, with no works taking place on Fridays or Saturdays.
Due to restricted road widths through a section of these works, we have no option but to close the carriageway to ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public. The A828 will therefore be closed in both directions 7pm to 6am. During periods of closure, amnesties at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm,12pm, 2am and 4am will allow waiting vehicles to be escorted through the site. Emergency service vehicles will be allowed to pass through the site throughout the working period. Public buses will be allowed through upon confirmation of timetable.
Out with these hours traffic management will be removed however, a 30mph speed limit will remain in place as traffic will be travelling over a temporary surface.
We understand that works of this nature will be disruptive and have planned the works consecutively to reduce the impact of the works. BEAR Scotland and Transport Scotland wish to thank the local communities in advance for their patience during these essential works.
