Appin Community Council receives advice from Fire Service to share with community
Appin Community Council has recently received information from Scottish Fire & Rescue Service. As part of SFRS's aim to support communities to 'work towards a Safer Scotland', two initiatives are in place.
Free Home Fire Safety Visit
The Service reminds communities that a Home Fire Safety Visit can be arranged - free of charge. The visit will help spot possible fire hazards, sort out a fire escape plan and provide information about smoke, heat and carbon monoxide alarms. To arrange a visit, call 0800 0731 999, text 'FIRE' to 80800 or visit firescotland.gov.uk
Wildfires Guidance
Scottish Fire & Rescue Service ask communities to follow the Muirburn Code to help prevent wildfires.
Wildfires are very dangerous, spreading fast, changing direction, threatening wildlife, livestock, domestic animals, environment, property and people.
The advice is: If you see a fire, however small, CALL 999 IMMEDIATELY.
